In addition, the different EU departments or units set up within each RS Government line ministries deal with EU affairs, including legal approximation. The great majority of draft laws are prepared by the RS Government ministries and they are responsible for preparing tables of concordance and a statement of compatibility with EU legislation. They act according to the Ministry of European Integration and International Cooperation’s ‘Instructions on How to Fill in the Comparative Review of Harmonisation of a Draft/Proposal of a Regulation with the EU Acquis and Legal Acts of the Council of Europe. The Ministry of European Integration and International Cooperation examines the compatibility of the submitted proposals with the EU legislation and issues an opinion, which is not sent to the NARS.
