The Twinning Project held meetings and workshops with representatives and administration of all Cantonal Assemblies
In the framework of the fourth component which focuses on the role of Cantonal Assemblies in EU integration, the Member State Twinning Team have organized a total of 11 workshops in all Cantonal Assemblies of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina. These included meetings with the Collegium and staff of the respective Cantonal Assemblies. Based on these meetings and workshops, a Common Action Plan for Cantonal Assemblies has been drafted by the Member State Twinning Team.
Due to the constitutional framework of Bosnia and Herzegovina and its decentralization, the role of Cantonal Assemblies in the EU integration context is vital in the overall process. The Member State Twinning Team organized training seminars in all Cantonal Assemblies for the political and administrative level. These aimed at providing a concise elaboration of the role of Cantonal Assemblies in EU integration. The training seminars were attended by the representatives of the Directorate for EU integration who presented their expertise to the participants. The seminars provided a complete overview of the exact role of Cantonal Assemblies in the context of EU integration.
The Member State Twinning Team held consultative meetings with representatives on both political and administrative level of the Cantonal Assemblies in order to get a clear picture of the challenges they are facing in the context of EU integration. Cantons as such play a very important role in the process and if their Assemblies acting under a single Common Action Plan, the progress can be expedited. The aforementioned Common Action Plan for Cantonal Assemblies has been drafted by the Twinning Team and then presented to the Cantonal Assemblies.
